
2 Montclair High students hit by car during dismissal, one taken to hospital
Two Montclair High School students were hit by a car during dismissal Thursday, leaving one student with minor injuries and sending the other to the hospital.
Update, Friday: Police have released more details of the crash. Both students were taken to area hospitals.
The two students were struck by a vehicle in front of the school, according to a message sent to the community Thursday by schools Superintendent Jonathan Ponds.
The student who was taken to a hospital suffered at least a leg injury, Montclair Police Department Sgt. Terence Turner said.
The incident remained an active police investigation as of Thursday afternoon.
"We are thankful for the quick response from our emergency responders and administration," Ponds said in the message. "Our thoughts are with all of our students and their families."
