Our friend Sue, who lives near the Glen Ridge Superfund site, has cousins visting from Atlanta this week. In a last-minute e-mail today, she advised them about the weather.
I hope the weather will hold up. It’s a lovely late spring. One of the first signs of early spring around here, along with buds on the trees and daffodils starting to sprout, are the bright orange fences and men in white radiation suits. Then you can think to youself, how lovely spring is here. The ground has thawed. Soon there will be tulips, and robins, and dump trucks removing radioactive waste.
It’s nice to know there are some things you can always count on. Hope the cousins aren’t scared off.
