Mikhail Baryshnikov has a new acting gig starting tomorrow night in Montclair, and it’s substantially more, um, substantial than his role as Carrie Bradshaw’s boyfriend in “Sex in the City.”
Baryshnikov will star in the √¢‚Ǩ≈ìThe Forbidden Christmas or The Doctor and The Patient,” which is the first show to open at Montclair State University’s brand new Alexander Kasser Theater. Montclair State has hired Jedediah Wheeler as the new executive director for arts & cultural programming to stage productions in the new space.
A gala is planned for tomorrow night. For info on tickets call 973.655.5112.
And speaking of openings, the off-Broadway musical “Suburb,” written by Montclair resident Bob Cohen and produced by Montclair realtor and Glen Ridge resident Roberta Baldwin, is being performed this month in Heidelberg, Germany as part of the Army’s European Theatre Festival.
