Sounds a little like “Raiders of the Lost Ark” or at least Nancy Drew. Phil Read writes in today’s Star-Ledger that Glen Ridge manager Michael Zichelli was digging around the recesses of borough hall recently and found a cache of cool old stuff. Finds included a secret treasure chest (which housed a dressmaker’s mannequin) and a trove of old documents, including a bound book marked “Death.” Oddest of all: a 1952 property tax bill, for a Ridgewood Ave. house, for just $290.95.

The Mayor performed a wedding this morning by candlelight.
