It must be pretty heady stuff to be one year out of college and have your full-length play produced professionally. But it’s not even the first play Ben Clawson (Montclair State, ’07) has seen lit by footlights. The young playwright’s first-full length play, “Spilling Stuff and Breaking Things,” premiered December, 2006 at Montclair State.
Tomorrow night, Clawson’s newest play, “Bootstraps,” starts a two-week run at Luna Stage. It’s produced by our friend Dave Hoffman, of Cafe Theatre, in conjuction with Strange Dog Theatre, a collaboration of Clawson and four former MSU classmates.
“Bootstraps,” which takes place after hours at an industrial supply company, with echoes of Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross,” runs Wednesday through Saturday this weekend and next. Tickets are available here.
