Breaking news for Elmo freaks, and those who love them. This morning, Luna Stage announced their upcoming show, Live From Sesame Street: Gordon and Elmo on Saturday, November 15, at 11 a.m.
This won’t be some oversized college kid in a scrappy red suit who will make your 3-year-old cry. I’m talking about the real deal. Roscoe Orman, the local legend who has played Gordon on Sesame Street for more than 20 years, will perform with the Kevin Clash. The Kevin Clash who is Elmo creator and puppeteer.
I don’t know what they’ll be doing at their show, but I know for sure that my twins and baby will go gaga.
Proceeds will benefit Luna Stage, and the ridiculously expensive $35-per-butt (babies-in-arms are free) admission fee is tax-deductible. Well, maybe $35 isn’t so high considering Counting Crows went for $75 per set of ears, and Adam Duritz isn’t Elmo. Hopefully, I can talk my husband into it. Or maybe Annabelle and Estelle can get a job and pay for it themselves.
Who: Elmo addicts and their adoring (spoiling) parents
What: Live From Sesame Street! Gordon and Elmo. A benefit for Luna Stage, which is awesome. I just talked to Colleen at Luna, and she said tickets will probably sell out quickly, and
1,000 seats are available. It’s general admission.
Where:
Montclair High School Auditorium
141 Park St.
Montclair, NJ 07042
When: Saturday, November 15, 11 a.m.
Why: Because you know you live for Elmo.
Cost: $35, tax-deductible. Call Luna at 973-744-3309 or try ordering online (it wasn’t working earlier today, or maybe I’m techno-stupid).
Very cool, but if you ever mention this to my kids, I will deny ever knowing about it.
your husband would be abusive if he didn’t go along on this one!
