  1. “Welcome Table” is sung with glee in my minivan by my entire family…so that is our vote (We also like the women’s accapella version from NJ group Olympia’s Daughters, but Dan Zane’s version is really hip and fun….
(although my personal Dan Zanes fave is when he sings with Natalie Merchant, Will You Go Lassie Go lyrics from the song “Wild Mountain Thyme”–nothing is better.

  2. Without a doubt, Firefly! Jump up would rank a distant second.
Our family has sort of been DZ groupies for the past four years. Berkner and the Disney stuff (Wiggles/Imagination Movers) makes me want to hurl. Been raising my little one on jazz, the blues and DZ almost exclusively. Actually, TMBG are not terrible either. For those who have never given DZ a listen, you don’t know what you are missing.

  3. YIKES!!!! the prof is horrified to read adults writing: “… Rocks” as it relates to DZ.
    Is good, maybe. Fun, perhaps.
    But rocks?
Though I guess if you’re still rockin’ mom jeans (men- like Obama, and women), maybe he does rock.
I would simply suggest you download the Pearl Jam single, The Fixer, if you want know what rocks. Hell, give Dave Mathews’ new stuff a try, “Why I am” is amazing.
(And yes, John Mayer has a new CD out today… He’s a God who rocks!!! Soulfully!!!)

  4. I wish I could feel offended tallahassee, but I don’t.
I’m not as cool as I think, or as I want to be (working on that one), but can anyone with a straight face use the term ROCK to describe DZ and other kiddie music performers?
    C’mon.
If DZ Rocks, what does, say the Red Hot Chili Peppers do?
Or a more contemporary group like Paramore or Evanescence (neither do I care for, btw)?
    REALLY Rock?
I’m only asking for some perspective here.

  5. My kids and I love Malti. The lyrics are great and it’s the best way for me to get them in the habit of speaking spanish.

  6. When I was pregnant with my first daughter a friend gave me a copy of a DZ and friends cd. Loved the album then and my two girls love it now. The album – Rocket Ship Beach and my girls favorite song is Hello.

  7. We always loved Malti when my daughter was little,
and I am a big fan of Dan’s sea chantey albumn!

  8. Dan Zanes (and Friends!) has us laughing and dancing all the way to the school bus and the office! Newer fav is House Party Time…

  9. All Around the Kichen is a favorite at our house – the three boys can’t help but shake their booties!!
