gr antiques show 2010.jpgAn old favorite: today, Friday, Jan. 29 and tomorrow, Jan. 30, Glen Ridge Congregational Church hosts its annual antiques show with dozens of vendors. Hours are until 9 pm tonight and 10 to 4 tomorrow. Appraisals of your stuff will take place until 4 pm today and 1 to 4 pm tomorrow. Admission $7 ($5 for seniors or with this card) and Toni’s Kitchen is the beneficiary. Lunch and snacks in the tea room.
Tonight, Friday, January 29, at Watchung Booksellers, come to a panel discussion about the “funnier” points of writing: Go Ahead, Make Me Laugh: Humor in Writing
Making the perfect delivery are authors Debra Galant (Fear and Yoga in New Jersey), Pamela Satran, (How Not to Act Old), and Jeff Cohen (A Night at the Operation), who spend an inordinate amount of time making other people laugh when they’re not laughing at themselves. Drop in at 7pm for conversation, light refreshments, and plenty of laughs!
Montclair Farmers’ Market Continues in Winter:
We just heard that a few of Montclair’s faithful vendors will continue to set up on Saturday mornings during these chilly months. Growers Tree-Licious Orchards (Ginger) and Vacchiano Farms (Anthony) – are planning to come to the Walnut Street Train Station every other Saturday, weather permitting. Anthony is there from 8:00 am – 12 noon; Ginger will be there from 10:000 am – 1:00 pm. Plan on seeing them this Saturday, January 30, “assuming the weather is reasonable for a drive with our truck”.
Ginger will have apples and cider this Saturday and every other Sat. through March, plus their popular doughnuts and other baked goods.
Anthony brings his locally-raised organic grass-fed beef, poultry, brown eggs, honey, fruit pies and pot pies, and more. For special orders call Anthony and Ginger at (908) 689-2227. Remember too, another Farmers’ Market vendor, The Organic Bread Company, is conveniently located on Walnut Street.
