Thinking about grilling this weekend? Why not throw a pizza on the grill? Here’s an easy recipe and instructional video to show you exactly how dough is done:
Pizza Dough :
1 cup warm water (about 100 degree F)
¼ teaspoon sugar
1 envelope active dry yeast (¼ ounce or 2 ¼ teaspoons)
3 cups white flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
In a stand mixer combine 1/4 cup of warm water, sugar and yeast. Allow to stand for about 10 minutes. When yeast appears bubbly, add the remaining ingredients . Begin mixing on slow speed until dough forms a ball and pulls cleanly away from the sides of the bowl.
Lightly flour a clean surface and begin kneading with the dough with the heel of your hand., until dough becomes smooth and elastic. Put dough into a clean bowl and coat with olive oil. Cover with a kitchen towel and place in a warm spot (75-80 degrees) for 1 -2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
Punch dough down with fist. Knead for 1 minute until smooth. At this point you can cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator or freezer for later use, or form your dough according to your pizza recipe. Dough can also be used to fry zeppole or make foccacia.
Ate at Ah’ Pizza last night and had a decent salad and two personal size pies. Nice space but very slow service. Pizza was good but one shared salad and two small pizza’s with no desret or drinks ( brought wine ) was $50 with tip??
