Just in from the courtroom in lower Manhattan, the real names of the Russian spies formerly known as Richard and Cynthia Murphy of Montclair. They’re Vladimir and Lydia Guryev. So next time you want to praise her hydrangeas, it’s Mrs. Guryev who gets the compliment.
The Guryevs pleaded guilty, along with eight other co-defendents, and appear to be heading towards a prisoner exchange that would allow them to return to Russia.

What’s in a name…?!
This is most interesting, as my sources have recently informed me that Vladimer Putin’s real name is Ciaran Declan O’Riada.
Something is up, for sure.
Wasn’t this surname, “Guryev,” the surname of the cartoon spies Boris and Natasha on the Rocky & Bullwinkle TV show in the mid-60’s?
Remember, Boris and Natahsa Guryev: “You shoot moose, I poison squirrel!”

Have the Guryevs stolen the Baristanet thumbs? Or am I the only one who can’t see them?

Sorry, Bill. It was Badenov.
Put the mouse down slowly and back away from the computer, Mr. Courson….
Ohmigosh, I’m sorry for the duplicate (multiple?) posting. Not sure why that happens – this is the second time. Is it me, or the website?
As we say in Jersey, “Murphys, we hardly knew yous.”
BTW…the Guryev’s two daughters were spotted on Church Street on Thursday afternoon. Each had a friend with them and they were being looked after by a young (20-ish) woman.
Wonder when, or if, they’ll be reunited with their parents. Th daughters were born here and are American citizens. Would a judge here ever rule that it is in the children’s best interests to remain in the U.S.?
I hope we at least extracted from Sputnik informa tion out of them before we sent them packing.
was i the only one who wondered why cynthia’s hydrangea’s would click and flash like that?
“smile for the soviets, honey!”
Why would it be in the children’s best intrest to live away from their parents? It looks as though the Muphy-Guryevs are already out of the U.S the children I’m sure are not far behind.
