NJ Devils alumni Grant Marshall visited the South Mountain YMCA’s youth hockey program on Wednesday, January 19 to give a clinic and motivational talk to the children. Grant, a two time Stanley Cup winner, spoke to them about the importance of having a dream of what you want to accomplish and then dedicating yourself to practicing and preparing yourself for reaching your goal.
In attendance with Mr. Marshall was N.J. Devil, the Devils mascot, who entertained the children with some devilish antics. Afterwards Mr. Marshall was available for autographs and Devils souvenirs. The Devils and the South Mountain YMCA have a long standing relationship through the Devils’ Street Devils Hockey program. The purpose of Street Devils is to provide children with an athletic and educational program through local community centers. The Devils provide the hockey equipment (except helmets) and the Y offers youth floor hockey programs for children ages 4-8 years old.
