You have more than a week to build up an appetite for Montclair Restaurant Week 2011, which runs from January 24 through February 6. More than 40 restaurants are expected to participate in the third annual Rotary Club-sponsored event, which will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to three Montclair food charities: The Human Needs Food Pantry, The Salvation Army Feeding Program and Toni’s Kitchen.
During the two weeks, participating restaurants will offer fixed-price dinners at $31, or less, in addition to their regular menus (beverages, gratuity and tax not included).

I believe I made the same correction last year. Can’t we get this right?
It’s not 100% of “all proceeds” . This sounds like the restaurants are making a large charitable donation of the total cost of the meal and not recouping their own cost.
They add $1 to the price fixe meal which the customer pays and then they (the restaurants) donate that $1 you, the customer, paid.
It’s nice. It’s a worthy effort. Please participate. But let’s be accurate please as to what’s being raised and who is raising it.
You could also double your giving to these very worthy charities by sending them a check for $2. (please consider sending more)
Who made you ombudsman, ROC? I am not being snarky. It’s just that you are always the one upholding the journalistic standards of this site. Are you a journalist yourself?
Great news! This type of event really helps with the winter blahs. Thanks to the Montcliar Rotary folks for their hard work in getting this going and to the restaurants that participate. Let the eating begin!
Seriously? You go out to eat, they tack a buck onto the check and then donate the dollar? People, send a couple of bucks directly. The restaurants aren’t actually helping.
