A freak October snowstorm didn’t stop folks from getting their freak on at the Boooristanet ball. Want to see the party pics?

Thank you to Charles and everyone at Montclair Station for being able to deal with power outages and postponements with grace. Thank you to Montclair’s Brinley Family who gave out generous tastings all night of their fabulous rum. And a big, big thank you to area businesses who generously donated gift certificates to reward Baristanet fans (see list below). Thank you to all Baristanet fans — old and new — who made it to our inaugural Boooristanet Bash. We loved seeing your costumes, partying with you and being together on one of the strangest Halloween weekends to hit Baristaville in a long time. Another thank you to our amazing D.J. Phil Jenkins, who got the party started and had us out on the dance floor all night long and to tarot card reader Karen Sullivan who read our cards and donated a prize, too! Thank you to all who brought non-perishable food items or who helped us raise money by buying raffles for the Human Needs Food Pantry. Thank you to Van Dyk Manor who lent us their fabulous carved pumpkin decorations, special guest Rollerena and Sean who helped out at the door all night.

Most importantly, the biggest thanks of all goes to the incomparable Holly Korus, who created a Halloween party like no other, with amazing decorations, drinks and more — all while dealing with weather emergencies, power outages and more with amazing aplomb.

A big shout to all the area businesses who rewarded Baristanet fans with fantastic prizes:

  1. Had soooo much fun, so did my hubby!

Enjoyed seeing everyone in their Halloween finest and especially nice to meet Rollerena, a Studio 54 legend.

The only thing I regret is that I didn’t get a Tarot reading but it was just too loud inside. But now that I know where to find Karen, I can look her up.

Costumes were wonderful, decorations divine. Now THAT would make a great costume: Dressing up like Divine…maybe next year!

My personal fave was the human voodoo doll.

Thanks to everyone who worked their fanny off so that this party could happen, especially Holly!

  2. THANX so much!!!! What fun!!! Everyone did an excellent job, resulting in a fabulous party!!!! We had a GREAT time!!! oxoxo

  3. Excellent time — thanks to all the Baristas, Mr. Barista, Holly and Hubby. We took a bunch of pix also, I will upload any good ones to Flickr. Thankfully, I was able to work at home today and get over the effects of sampling all the Brindley Rum. Let’s do it again, but without the snow and all that related stuff…

  4. Now that I have electricity and can get on the computer I’d like to say thanks to the lovely ladies of Baristanet — particularly Holly — who provided a great night out on a cold, snowy, power-outed evening. I had a blast. The drinks were great, the music was fantastic (really nice to have the opportunity to dance to some good tunes), great prizes (too bad I didn’t win anything) and it was wonderful to meet a nice crop of new people from the area. And I found the montclair station to be a great place (never would have gotten there otherwise — I’ll be stopping therep on the commute home for a quick drink). When’s the next party? Looking forward to it.
