  1. Since we got hit fairly hard by the storm I took the day off to run various errands, etc. The amount of tree damage is truly on a major scale. My travels took me all over Montclair, West Orange, Bloomfield, and Glen Ridge, plus a run to Chatham, between late morning and late afternoon. During the day, I saw exactly ONE Montclair tree crew at work on Chestnut St by MHS. Meanwhile in Chatham, it looked like they had pulled out all of the stops in comparison with Loaders, crews with big chippers, and smaller crews driving around with saws and cleaning up smaller branches. Can someone please tell me exactly what the hell is going on and why no one seems to be doing their job? They should be embarrassed.

  2. So…does someone happen to know what happens if we go over our predicted number of “snow days”? Two in October is pretty daunting.

  3. Andrew – See below as per the district calendar. I wouldn’t make any solid Spring Break plans just yet.

“If emergency or snow days are required, any in excess of three (3) will be made up as full days in the following
    sequence: day 4 – May 25
    th
; days 5 to 9 – 4/16 to 4/20 in that order as needed. When advisable, a 2 hour delayed
opening will be used rather than an emergency closing. A delayed opening on an early dismissal Thursday will
cancel the early dismissal and school will end at the normal time. On delayed opening days, staff is expected at the
regular time or as soon after as weather permits.”
