MMO Programs, a non-profit nursery school and child-care facility, just got a sparkling new makeover. Over the summer, work crews created two new beautiful classrooms inside the First Congregational Church in Montclair for Miss Corrine’s and Miss Tara’s preschool kids, see left. (Disclaimer, my girls had both wonderful teachers). MMO simply needed more space to expand their infant and nursery school offerings led by Missy Pentecost.
They opened infant care rooms last year, offering flexible full-time, part-time or drop-in babysitting for babies ages 6 weeks through 15 months. This year, there’s a new teacher for the under-3s, Jan Burgess. Miss Danielle and Miss Noelle (also my kids’ former amazing teachers) are still at MMO, along with many of the long-time aides.
MMO can care for kids ages 6 weeks through 6 years, explained director Wendy Westock, also left. Next up for MMO is an expanded summer camp offering. With the two new rooms–that are air-conditioned–they can accommodate more children and offer 7 or 8 weeks of care instead of 5.
Call MMO (973-744-6521) for more information. Westock says they still have openings in a few of their classes.
