Here are this weekend’s highlights:

Bring the kiddies over to Watchung Booksellers to hear a tale of a little Italian Mouse–Fabrizio’s Fable. (Saturday, October 15)

Fans of firefighters, (and who isn’t?) can visit Millburn’s 14th Annual Fire Department Open House. Kids can learn about fire safety, sit in a fire engine, watch fire demonstrations and even check out the Batmobile! (Saturday, October 15)

Lace up your running shoes and join Maplewood in Motion, the annual 5K and Kids’ Fun Run that raises money to support community organizations. The kid’s run is really cool and each child gets a shiny medal. (Sunday, October 16)

October is Hispanic Heritage Month, so take the kids to Montclair Public Library to enjoy Canciones: Hispanic Music for Kids. (Saturday, October 15)

Continue the celebration at Newark Museum’s Latino Heritage Day. Latino music, dance, performance, art-making, gallery-going and fabulous food are just some of the thins families of all ages can enjoy. (Sunday, October 16)

Head out to Suffern for Deerkill Day Camp’s super fun Family Fall Fest. There will be free pumpkins, arts and crafts, live music, inflatables, train ride, face painting, refreshments and more! (Sunday, October 16)

  1. But… But.. what if we have no “kiddies” ? “Kiddie” # 1 is a CPA in NYC and in Law School. They grow up. ‘ya know. Kiddie #1 doesn’t hang with “Mommy & Daddy” ~ Maybe that’s a new business venture to explore? !! Rednt-A- Kiddie
