The neon “OPEN” sign was finally turned on and you could smell eggs frying and coffee brewing inside this morning at 7:30 a.m. The first two customers at Montclair Diner (a.k.a. Montclair CharBroil) were Montclair police officers. The men, who had been Sunday regulars were glad to be back, and offered of the food “the grits are better.”
Inside, the entire restaurant was spanking new and decorated for Christmas. Owner Gus Makris and his family were ready for the return of long-missed customers after the fire that closed the favorite local eatery back in April. Go over and get your pancakes, French toast or whatever favorite dish you’ve been missing. And tell them Baristanet sent you.
WOOOHOOOO!
Hooray! So happy for them, but more happy for me.
This is great news! I guess it’s the closest thing to a Diner that Montclair has? Their soups are fabulous. Does https://www.mtcmarket.com have a Coupon for the CharBroil?
Had breakfast there this am. Corned beef hash is better than ever!
Yea! Cheeseburger deluxe time!
