Rotarian Juliana Belcsak, who organized the event; Rose Cali, and Montclair Rotary Club President Tom Conk.
Yesterday, the Montclair Rotary Club presented extraordinary Montclair citizen Rose Cali with its International Community Service Award at a ceremony attended by over 80 people held at the Upper Montclair Country Club. Cali was honored for her ongoing work to make life better and more meaningful for all people in the community. In addition, the Rotary celebrated her commitment to “Service Above Self,” her humanitarian outreach to the underserved, and her important contributions to fields of music, the performing and visual arts, and education. In her remarks, Cali paid tribute to the many “change makers” in the audience who have a like-minded view of providing caring human services to the underserved. Cali served as founder, president and CEO of the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center from 1997 to 2005. She is currently a board member at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, chair of the board of Sharron Miller’s Academy of Performing Arts, advisory board member of the Luna Stage Company (Orange), and member of the New Jersey State Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. She is also a member of the Liberty Science Center board and member of the Montclair Public Library Advisory board.
