What are you doing on Sunday, April 29? If I were you, I’d buy tickets to KindieFest in Brooklyn now and take the family to one of the hottest family concerts around.

My family went to KindieFest 2011 and had a blast. Not only did my girls perform onstage with the wonderful Elizabeth Mitchell and her family band, You Are My Flower, but we discovered The Verve Pipe. I knew them from their grown-up hit The Freshmen, but I had no idea they were making awesome family music, like this song:

KindieFest is the world’s first-ever family music conference that focuses exclusively on music for kids and families. Started as a one day event of industry panels and show in 2009, KindieFest keeps on growing. In its third year, it has become a three day event, ending with a public Family Festival.

This year’s festival has an impressive line-up including SteveSongs, Bari Koral Family Rock Band, Apple Brains, Moona Luna, Big Bang Boom, KBC Kids, and WeBop from Jazz at Lincoln Center. Whether you’re already fans of these kindie bands, or are looking to discover some new family music, KindieFest is the place to be.
