El Dia de los Niños/El Dia de los Libros, is a celebration of children, families, multiculturalism, and reading which is held annually in late April. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for every child regardless of linguistic and cultural background. Clifton Memorial Library will offer a variety of events that will last throughout the whole day to celebrate on Saturday, April 28.

- 10:30-11:30 Jack the Jackal/Mascot of the New Jersey Jackals
- 12:00-12:45 Light Refreshments will be served
- 1:00-2:00 African Clay Mask Construction (Ages 7 and up—please register/space is limited)
- 1:00-2:00 Bilingual Storytelling by Special Members of the Clifton Community
- 2:00-2:45 Easy Crafts for Children of all Ages
- 3:30-4:00 English/Spanish Puppet Show for Children and Families by Mighty Puppets
There is no registration required except for the African Clay Mask Construction from 1 pm – 2: pm, which has limited seating of 30 for children in Grades 1 and up. To participate in the African Clay Mask Construction, please register at the children’s reference desk or by calling 973.772.5500, ext. 3020.
