How about a burger for lunch? Smashburger will donate $2 from all New Jersey Burgers sold today (Wednesday, December 12, 2012) to Restore the Shore Projects Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.

Donations will be made from all of 11 locations in New Jersey including locally in Montclair/Glen Ridge and Clifton.

To help the cause, order up a New Jersey Smashburger — a Certified Angus Beef burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese crumbles, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo, on an onion bun.

“As New Jerseyans, every one of us has fond memories of the Jersey Shore – from spending time on its beautiful beaches, to its vibrant nightlife,” said Scott Gillman, CEO of Mascott Corporation. “At Smashburger, we wanted to do our part to contribute to hyper local relief organizations, like Restore the Shore, who are getting much needed supplies directly into the hands of those affected most by this tragedy. We hope our customers will join us at any of our eleven Smashburger locations on December 12th to help us raise money for this worthy cause.”

Restore The Shore Projects is an initiative to assist in disaster relief for Hurricane Sandy victims. Its main goal is to work quickly to provide relief and deliver it right into the hands of victims and restore their lives back to normal. Started by ERGO clothing, a lifestyle surf/skate brand located 10 minutes outside of the impact zone, they initially created Restore the Shore t-shirts to sell and donate 100% of the profits. Through word of mouth and social media, they were able to collect donations and distribute supplies directly to those in need in a matter of hours.
