They talented teens of Montclair High’s School of Visual and Performing Arts (SVPA) will perform Hairspray the Musical this weekend and next.
SVPA will bring the story of plump teenager Tracy Turnblad and her dream to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to racially integrate the show.
For this production, SVPA will open with a special Gala Night Show and reception on Friday, May 3. Your ticket will get you premium seats and entry to the reception, to benefit SVPA, will be held at the Garrison home, 149 Park Street. (three houses north of the Little Theatre). Enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres, and early parking!
