New Jersey Arts Incubator (NJAI) will celebrate summer at the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center (OSPAC) amphitheater in West Orange with the Summer Solstice Celebration this Friday June 21.
Summer Solstice Celebration is a gathering of regional performers and artists presenting world music, dance, drumming, arts and crafts for children and more. Food and craft vendors, as well as healing practitioners, will be on site at the OSPAC amphitheater, which is now the home of NJAI.
As the sun reaches its highest peak of midsummer and then sets in glorious splendor from the ridge of the first Watchung Mountain, guests will join in a series of sun salutations and be treated to performances by special guests including the Montclair based 13 HANDS aka DALIEN, a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, world musician, shamanic and kirtankar. Other performers include Mark Woods, a regionally renowned teaching circle drummer and world music musician, Celtic harpist Odarka, The Center for Spiritual Living of North Jersey’s One Voice choir, spoken word artists and much more.
Bring blankets and lawn chairs and a drum, rattle or shaker for the powerful and inspiring show finale! Instruments for children will be available for purchase.
