Life Skills For a Confident College ExperienceThroughout the week we are highlighting one essential life skill daily, with pointers for parents of teens and college students. You can truly empower teens to be real about their lives and build the muscles for the college experience, and competent independence.

The fifth essential life for a confident college experience is:

Time Management:

Parents can help develop this skill by:

  • Encouraging teens to find an effective system utilizing planners, lists, alarm clocks, etc.
  • Whenever possible don’t “pick up the pieces” at home – Let teens really experience the consequences of their decisions with time management

Parent will no longer be monitoring this when their teens go off to college. It’s important to help them develop this life skill.
