More than 20 Montclair State University students rolled up their sleeves, along with alumni and others, at Montclair Community Farms on Saturday, September 13. The volunteers cleaned up the grounds at the Farms’ Montclair Historical Society site, harvested food, cleaned chicken coops and worked the garden.
Their all-day efforts was part of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Designated by Congress in 2009, the day is a way for people to come together to pay tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks and also to honor those who rose up in service in the following days, months and years.
