No kid should go to school hungry, but there are families in need who don’t always have the staples at home to make healthy meals. Toni’s Kitchen has begun a new outreach program to supply healthy food to students at a local tutoring program. Students taking part in the weekly program receive a backpack full of nutritious staples to use to make meals throughout the week.
The tutoring program is for low-income families. Each backpack contains healthy food and snacks like apple sauce, peanut butter, tuna, raisins, and grains (breads and oatmeal). In the weeks ahead, Toni’s Kitchen will be adding fresh produce. A generous anonymous donor has donated 200 backpacks for the program. You and your family can donate directly to the backpack program:
– Sponsor a backpack for a week for $12
– Sponsor a backpack for a month for $48
– Sponsor a backpack for a year for $624
