Some 54 children gathered at the Montclair Avenue home of the Sid and Athena Siddons last night to await the arrival of Santa and his elves compliments of the Montclair Police Department and PBA Local #53. Santa hand delivered a gift for each child. The 27 families participating in the event donated new unwrapped children’s presents which will be given to the Montclair Salvation Army for delivery to needy children for the holidays.
This is the fifth annual MPD/PBA Santa Visit Event. The merry entourage stops at homes around the township over a three day period. Sunday was the North Side (North of Watchung Avenue), Monday will be the Center (Between Bloomfield Avenue & Watchung Avenue) and Tuesday on the South Side (South of Bloomfield Avenue) .
All the families who participated send a big thank you to Sergeant Romito, Det. Tom Liloia and the entire PBA #53 for bringing the North Pole to Montclair.
This is a wonderful annual event. Thanks to the MPD for doing this and for making my kid so happy.
