James Brown and Bill Cowher

James Brown, the award-winning CBS studio host, and his analyst colleague Bill Cowher, the longtime Pittsburgh Steelers and Super Bowl-winning coach, will appear at a special charity event at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center on Tuesday, January 20.

“An Evening with James Brown and Bill Cowher” is an intimate cocktail reception and interactive discussion on all things football less than two weeks before Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona.

Brown – or JB as he is more commonly known – is one of the nation’s most accomplished and well-known broadcasters, currently serving as host of NFL Today on CBS and also as a special correspondent for CBS News. The Washington D.C. native, who starred in basketball at Harvard and was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1973, began his broadcasting career as play-by-play man for the Washington Bullets (now Wizards).

Cowher, a western Pennsylvania native who played five years as a linebacker and special teams standout with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, coached the Steelers for 15 seasons before retiring in 2006. He’s been the subject of speculation for any NFL team with a head coaching vacancy, but recently said he does not plan to return to the sidelines.
