Another quiet weekend while people recover from their New Year’s Eve festivities, but there are still ways to get out and enjoy what’s happening.

Don’t forget about Free Art Friday Montclair happening today. Here are your weekend highlights:

MAM Free First Friday and Closer Look Tours

Join Montclair Art Museum for informal 30-minute gallery talks, led by MAM educators and docents, that provide an in-depth examination of one to two works of art on view in the galleries. Closer Look Tours coincide with Free First Fridays—MAM offers free admission to all visitors the first Friday of the month during regular gallery hours.

old soleTonight at Trend Coffee & Tea House in Montclair, see Old Sole, a three-piece original band hailing from northern NJ. In the spring of 2014, band mates Ariel Tukachinsky, Amalia Grannis, and Max McMahon combined creative forces to produce a funky, soulful sound, with a touch of bluesy seriousness. Old Sole’s music can be described as observational, concerning nature, society, and the self, backed by grooves that are catchy.
