On Saturday, The Studio Playhouse (14 Alvin Place, Montclair) presents A Hairy Tale: A Rapunzel Story. The story follows a slew of characters on an adventure through the forest of Wychwood, as Prince Rupert and Princess Iphigenia search for love in spite of their obnoxious ways. Performances will be at 1:30 and 3:30 on both Saturday and Sunday. All tickets are $8 and can be purchased here.

The Montclair Art Museum (3 South Mountain Avenue, Montclair) will host its Family Art Adventure (held the third Saturday of each month). This is an hour-long drop-in gallery program for children age 5 and up and their adult companions. Families are invited to explore and discuss the artwork and participate in fun activities in the galleries and sculpture garden. The event frons from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The admission fee is $15.00 per person, $6 for members.

Visit the Reeves-Reed Arboretum (156 Hobart Avenue, Summit) for Discovery Saturday in the Carriage House Education Center any time between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM for an interactive exploration of nature. This week’s drop in theme is Spring Festivals from Around the World. Explore environmental topics through a variety of activities and borrow and Arboretum backpack loaded with fun gear for an outdoor adventure. This event is free for members and $5.00 per child for non0mmebers. No pre-registration is required.

New Jersey Makers Day is this Saturday and there will be multiple events in the area. This day celebrates the culture of making in New Jersey and to enhance community engagement. The following local libraries will host events: Montclair Public Library (1:00 PM to 5:00 PM), Glen Ridge Public Library (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM), West Orange Public Library (1:30 PM to 4:00 PM), East Orange Public Library (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM), South Orange Public Library (2:00 PM and 3:00 PM), Caldwell Public Library (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM), West Caldwell Public Library (12:00 PM to 3:00 PM), and Maplewood Public Library (10:00 AM to 1:00PM). Just Kidding at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway, NYC) will feature Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower. This show includes special guests Simi Stone, M Shanghai String Band, and Morgan O’Kane. With renditions of great songs by Woody Guthrie, Bob Marley, The Velvet Underground, Vashti Bunyan, Gillian Welch and more, the gentle heartfelt music is suitable for all ages. Tickets are $26 for adults and $16 for kids.

Camp Kappawanna, a new musical with music and lyrics by GRAMMY award-nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb will be at the Linda Gross Theater (336 W. 20th Street, NYC) on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 AM. The story centers around 12-year old Jennifer Jenkins and her fear and excitement of leaving home for the first time. Tickets for this event start at $15.

On Sunday, drop in to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum (353 East Hanover Avenue, Morris Twp) for the Winter Weekend Photo Scavenger Hunt! Families are invited to participate each Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The theme for March is “Teeny Tiny Signs of Spring.” Take a picture of every item on the list and win a prize! Cost is $10 per family.
