jenny-milchman-webMontclair author Jenny Milchman‘s third book, Night Falls, might sound a little familiar. A physiological thriller, the story takes place during one night when a snowstorm shuts down a family’s Adirondack home, leaving them stranded – until two escaped prisoners show up.

“I am aware of the crazy convergence with the real life story playing out upstate,” Milchman, a 1987 graduate of Montclair High, told Baristanet.

AsNightFallsPublished by Ballantine/Penguin Random House, Night Falls follows Milchman’s two earlier novels, Cover of Snow, her debut, and Ruin Falls, her second. The first two were critically acclaimed, having been praised for their “heart pounding action” and “richly woven tales.” Night Falls is sure to garner similar accolades – it’s already been chosen as one of IndieBound’s July Indie Next Pick.

After each book was published, Milchman followed them with a promotional road show, and the third time around is no exception. The day after Milchman’s launch party at Watchung Booksellers on July 12, she’ll be setting off with her family on what Shelf Awareness has called “the world’s longest book tour.” You can see the map of her route here, which looks pretty similar to the algorithm that figured out the best U.S. road trip ever.

Milchman’s launch party on July 12 at 4 pm at Watchung Booksellers, will include food, drinks, and of course, her book.

  1. ” . . . a family’s Adirondack home, leaving them stranded – until two escaped prisoners show up.”

    Prescient to say the least.
