Dion2017

A street poet and singer of extraordinary versatility, range and resonance, Dion defined Rock ‘n’ Roll for a generation. See him perform at Mayo Performing Arts Center tonight. Enjoy classic hits such as “Runaround Sue” and “The Wanderer,” from this Rock ‘n‘ Roll Hall of Famer whose music remains creative and relevant through the decades.

The Flemtones

The Flemtones will perform at Tierney’s in Montclair on Friday night. Queen V will open. The Flemtones play an eclectic mix of rock n roll cover tunes that stylistically include blues, r&b, roots rock, folk, country, pop, and a little bit of funk or jazz thrown in for good measure. They have been playing together in various incarnations and under a few different names (to stay a step ahead of the law) since they met at MHS in the mid-1970’s.

Old Mogul Theatre will featurie some musical entertainers from all over the tri state area at its Indie Night on Friday. Super American, Glass Cow, We’re Ghosts Now, and Dentist will perform.

Spend an evening of hilarity with the award-winning comedian and actor of the Rush Hour movies, Silver Linings Playbook and Money Talks, Christ Tucker at NJPAC on Saturday night. Best known for playing Det. James Carter in the Rush Hour franchise, Tucker became a favorite on Russell Simmons’ HBO Def Comedy Jam in the 1990s and had his first starring role in the film cult classic Friday, followed by the hits Money Talks and The Fifth Element. He is the star and producer of Netflix’s Chris Tucker Live.
