Alexandria Pavel

The latest installment of our Baristanet Profile series, where we get to know the people in our neighborhood:

Name: Alexandria Pavel

Where do you live? Montclair

When did you move there? Returned nearly two years ago from living in Chicago for 4 years, and 4 in San Francisco before that.

Where did you grow up? Montclair! Love it here.

How do you make a living? I own Apple Village children’s design and gift shop in Upper Montclair with my husband Dave.

Coffee, tea or … ? I have two young kids — coffee, more coffee, and wine.

What’s your idea of a perfect Saturday? My perfect Saturday would be finding a great outdoor family friendly music and food festival or exploring a new town or neighborhood with my family.

What’s your favorite local restaurant? It is nearly impossible to choose just one, but I’d say Le Salbuen.

What’s on your nightstand? My glasses, some crystals (usually pyrite and moonstone), TV remote, and a glass of water.

What are you listening to? This time of year usually Andrew Bird, Nina Simone, dare I say Macklemore, and 90.7 WFUV

What are your current addictions? The new Chile mocha latte from Starbucks, Mommy and baby matching outfits, and my “therapy” candles from Basemeant Wrx, and Dolly Moo bath bombs.

Talent you would most like to have. Public speaking and acting.

What’s the worst-kept secret about Montclair? We live in the suburbs, but we like to think otherwise.

What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? She was kind of a dork but damn she had style.
