On Saturday, November 5, MESH (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) will hold its 3rd annual fundraising benefit, MESHingWITH MOTOWN. The funds raised will help MESH fulfill its mission to help the hungry and homeless in the Montclair community.
MESHing with Motown will take place at The Conference Center at Montclair State University, from 7-10 pm. Guests will enjoy dancing to the dynamic Motown sound of Valerie Adams and the Dimension Band, along with food, beer and wine, and a silent auction and raffle. Tickets prices range from $75 to $150 per person, and are available online here.
Benefit Chair Mary Beth Rosenthal says, “It will be a really fun night! We’ll have a live band, and the vocalist — Valerie Adams of the Dimension Band — sang backup for Patti LaBelle, so the dance floor will totally rock! And we have some great auction items, including tickets to The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, theater tickets for August Wilson’s Jitney and for Les Liaisons Dangereuses with Liev Schreiber and Janet McTeer, and a private dinner for eight (four courses plus wine pairings) with a two personal chefs.”
Executive Director Gwen Ames added, “You’ll also help to do important work right here in our community. Most people think about homelessness in cities. But we have homeless and food insecure people in our town. With Thanksgiving coming up, this is an opportunity for us to show our compassion for those who have much less to be thankful for.”
