Early this morning, MFD units responded to a call from a residence on North Fullerton Avenue to find a debris pile burning next to the house. The fire had already extended and caught the house on fire as well. Deputy Chief Robert Duncan reports:
On October 31, at 3:23am the Montclair Fire Department received a call reporting a house fire on North Fullerton Ave. MFD units arrived to find a debris pile burning next to the house. The fire had already extended and caught the house on fire as well. MFD units extinguished the fire, it was placed under control at 3:43am. Fire damage was limited to the exterior wall of the house. There was also heavy smoke damage on the first floor and, moderate smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. One of the residents was treated and released by the MAU for smoke inhalation. There weren’t any fire department injuries. MFD units cleared the scene at 4:39am. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
