The township has extended the use of leaf blowers until Dec. 30, officials said Tuesday.
“Due to the mild fall weather and given that many trees in the township still have leaves on them resulting in the delay of fall cleanup for many residents, the OEM [Office of Emergency Management] Coordinator has, per township ordinance 217-6, extended the permitted use of internal combustion leaf blowers,” the announcement from the Department of Community Services said on the municipal website.
However, no internal combustion leaf blowers can be used on Christmas, Dec. 25.
