Halfway There, Montclair’s literary reading series, returns to the Red Eye Cafe (94 Walnut Street, Montclair) on Monday, June 18th for the closing event of the season. The evening will feature Nicole Dennis-Benn, author of the New York Times Notable Book HERE COMES THE SUN, New Jersey writer of poetry and fiction Ananda Lima, local writer Lisa Romeo, author of the memoir STARTING WITH GOODBYE: A DAUGHTER’S MEMOIR OF LOVE AFTER LOSS, and poet Leah Umansky, author of the poetry collection THE BARBAROUS CENTURY. Doors open at 6:30pm for coffee and mingling, readings begin at 7pm and will be followed by an audience Q&A, with time after for book-buying and signing.

Now closing out its third year, Halfway There aims to bring together established and emerging literary voices, as well as local and visiting writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Founded in 2015, Halfway There has proven to be an exciting addition to Montclair’s vibrant artistic community, showcasing a diverse range of writers including Laurie Lico Albanese, Alice Elliot Dark, Marcy Dermansky, Elisabeth Egan, Melissa Febos, Hillary Frank, Ben Greenman, Rachel Eliza Griffiths, Lauren Grodstein, John Keene, Joan Silber, and Matthew Thomas.
