In Harmony Montclair teens are ready to make a difference in the community with their time and talents!

The Harmony Concert is a variety benefit show with singing, dancing, stand-up comedy and more. Talented teens and tweens will do it all –– organizing the show, performing, stage crew, crafts, silent auction, and a bake sale –– to raise money for the COPE Center. Come for a fun-filled night of entertainment that supports a great cause!

The festivities will also include a fair where teens can learn about volunteer opportunities at the many charities that have been supported in the past.

“Part of what makes this concert special is that local teens and tweens put this show together on their own. It is amazing to be a part of a group where passionate teens and tweens come together to make an impact in the community through performance,” says Maggie Borgen, a sophomore at Montclair High School and the founder and director of In Harmony Montclair.

“Everyone brings their talents to the table as a one-of-a-kind creative outlet. It is inspiring to see how everyone’s talents –– whether it be musical, organizing, tech-related, crafting, or baking –– come together to create a unique concert each year. With the relevance of mental health in today’s society, In Harmony Montclair is very excited to raise funds for COPE. It is going to be a fun night, so we hope that the community will come out to see the show!”

The COPE Center provides mental health and counseling services in the community. In Harmony Montclair is a New Jersey-based group that raises funds and awareness for local charities by organizing teen talent showcases and other events. All ticket proceeds and additional donations given through Eventbrite will go to the COPE Center. Tickets are also available at the door. All children ages 4 and under do not need a ticket.

The first Imagine Concert was in 2015, with the name changing to the Harmony Concert in 2017. The concert occurs every August, and benefits a different charity each year. In 2017, In Harmony Montclair –– the Harmony Concert’s umbrella group –– was founded. During this past school year, IHM had five small performances at venues and businesses around Montclair to benefit causes such as refugee resettlement and environmental activism.
