Montclair Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and Montclair Division of Senior Services will hold its annual Seniorama on Nov. 7. This year’s subject is Universal Design, which will include suggestions on making sustainable living spaces.
Though families prepare their homes with smoke alarms, rope ladders, carbon monoxide detectors, toddler proof locks and more, it’s often the unexpected that presents the most challenges. Is your home ready if you break a leg, sustain a sports injury or if you find yourself in need of a wheelchair or a walker? The seminar will provide solutions that can be implemented and used for every household.
The session takes place 9 a.m. – 1:45 p.m., at the Salvation Army, 13 Trinity Place.
Topics will include an Overview of the Universal Design concept, Architectural Objectives in Home Design and the use of Universal Design in Intentional Community Planning.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with vendors including Back Home Safely, EZ Ride, Include Montclair, Montclair Public Library and NJTIP@Rutgers. Lunch will be served following the presentations. Registration, including the luncheon, is free and can be secured on eventbrite, Seniorama.
