The Office Beer Bar & Grill announced it will close Sunday after being a fixture on Montclair’s Bloomfield Avenue for years. The Office Beer Bar & Grill was a familiar hangout for Montclair High School alumni to meet up for reunion events. Fans of The Office, some who have been visiting the Montclair location for decades, bemoaned its closure on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Here’s the official announcement:
Regretfully, the Office Beer Bar & Grill in Montclair will permanently close at the end of service on Sunday, December 1. We have appreciated being part of the Montclair community for so many years. Our staff and managers have been given the opportunity to relocate to one of our other area restaurant concepts. As Montclair truly feels like home, we are in the process of exploring other spaces in town in the hopes of opening one of our 40NORTH Restaurant locations in the near future. We hope that the community will join us during our last week of service to help us properly say goodbye and to celebrate all of the good times we have had together over the years.
The Office holds one of Montclair’s coveted liquor licenses. The 40North Restaurant group has Town Bar & Kitchen and George & Martha’s American Grille, both in Morristown; and Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro, in Mendham.
Are you sad to see the Office go?

My favorite memories are of the Mother’s Day Buffet. I enjoyed the mimosas.
