MONTCLAIR, NJ – So many families are struggling with juggling work from home and school from home during the COVID-19 crisis. One Montclair family has found a colorful approach to staying connected and supporting each other during this time.
“In an effort to make this time a little more fun, we’re doing rainbow outfit days with our twins. They mapped out the schedule and are especially excited for glitter day,” says Elizabeth Mendez Barry of how her 5-year-old twins have responded to what she has dubbed #rainbowhomeschool 🌈🌈🌈.
Mendez Barry, who first shared her colorful quarantine idea with the Montclair Mommies and Daddies Facebook Group, got her twins to buy in by letting them choose the colors the family would all wear day by day.
As you can see from these photos, the whole family is colorfully committed to the idea (we are also impressed at how colorful their wardrobe is!)
“We skipped purple because we’re not purple people, our friends are taking on purple day. Tomorrow we’re doing rainbow, then next week black, white, neon and glitter. It’s been a lot of fun, and we’ve also realized that selfies are not our strong suit. Doing this has been a source of sunshine amid the sadness of this time.”
