Montclair Schools sends its latest COVID-19 Notification to parents and caregivers, urging them to prepare in the event of school closing. Full message below.

As we continue planning for the impact of potential COVID-19 related issues, we share the following information:

Please understand that we may decide to close schools on very short notice. The schools are preparing for this, and we ask that you prepare for child care and any other concerns that may impact your family personally. Should this become a reality, we will provide you with details in a separate communication.

The district is cancelling events in the schools that would have the potential of a significant parent/caregiver/friend attendance for the month of March. This will include family/outside attendance at school productions in the coming weeks. These events will continue for students and our technology department is preparing for live streaming and recording for families who would like to watch the productions virtually. If you are unsure about a specific event, please call the associated school.
Bus companies have been informed about the proper disinfecting of all buses and are following all of the CDC guidelines after their runs.

Reminder: Friday, March 13, schools are closed for students while teachers and paraprofessionals attend professional development to prepare for online learning should that become necessary.

Please take the time to review all updates and important information from the CDC on our website.

We appreciate your understanding in these matters.

Sincerely,

Dr. Nathan N. Parker

Interim Superintendent
