Montclair Moms of Color, in collaboration with Montclair Mutual Aid, had a successful first food drive box give away and on Saturday, they continued their efforts to help provide for the Montclair Community with a toiletries drive at Glenfield Park.

Thanks to generous members of the community, Montclair Moms of Color was able to raise over $1,500 to purchase items to assist those in the community who are in need, helping more than 30 families.

Aminah Toler, Jeremy Stepansky, Rowan O’Dair Gadler and Char O’dair Gadle, are all Montclair Mutual Aid Members and MHS alumni.

Montclair Moms of Color partnered with Montclair Mutual Aid to secure drop off locations for toiletries at Stanton Company Realty, East Side Mags Comics and Cool Cats Music Store. All monetary donations were used to purchase additional toiletries including baby wipes, soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent and other essential items from Costco. ShopRite gift cards in the amounts of $50 and $25 were also purchased and distributed along with the boxes.

Montclair Moms of Color would like to thank Montclair Mutual Aid for their assistance by helping to promote the event on social media as well as being hands on with the collection of donated items and volunteering in the park to help distribute the boxes.

A special thank you to Kate Albright, Suzanne Aptman and Aminah Toler (MMA Members) for soliciting donations, being hands on and especially, Aminah Toler, who also served as a liaison.

Montclair Moms of Color are thankful for the outpouring of love and support from the community. The best part of Saturday’s drive was the togetherness and joy of all who were in attendance and the coming together of the Montclair community to help one another.
