Essex County’s COVID vaccination centers have become famous for their efficiency and execution. And now, more famous people are dropping by to get their shot and helping promote the important of getting the COVID vaccine.

First it was Queen Latifah who visited Essex County to get vaccinated and help encourage more people to schedule their COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

On Saturday, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. welcomed award-winning actress and philanthropist Rosario Dawson, famous for her performance in musical “Rent.”

Dawson, who supports a variety of organizations dedicated to the environment, women and children, dropped by the Essex County COVID Vaccination Center at Essex County College.

“We want to make sure that every segment of our population has access to a COVID vaccination and feels safe about the process,” DiVincenzo said. “By partnering with Ms. Dawson, we are hoping to demonstrate to residents in our urban areas how safe getting the vaccination is.”
