Don’t miss your chance to see the Harlem Quartet at The Morris Museum, on Thursday, August 26 at 8 pm. The Grammy Award-winning Harlem Quartet is as adept at Mozart as they are at Ellington. Now, the talented foursome have been recently named Quartet-In-Residence at Montclair State University.

Harlem Quartet advances diversity in classical music while engaging new audiences with varied repertoire that includes works by minority composers. Their mission, to share their passion with a wider audience, has taken them around the world; from a 2009 performance at The White House for President Obama and First Lady, Michelle Obama, to a highly successful tour of South Africa in 2012, and numerous venues in between.

The musically versatile ensemble has performed with such distinguished artists as Itzhak Perlman, Ida Kavafian, Carter Brey, Fred Sherry, Misha Dichter, Jeremy Denk, and Paquito D’Rivera. The quartet also collaborated with jazz masters Chick Corea and Gary Burton on the album Hot House, a 2013 multi-Grammy Award-winning release.

This acclaimed quartet which has toured the world and performed for the President and First Lady will be performing in our shared backyard, The Morris Museum’s Back Deck on Thursday, August 26 at 8:00 pm. (Rain Date: Saturday, August 28 at 8:00 p.m.

Bring your own chairs and refreshments and enjoy live entertainment atop the Morris Museum’s elevated parking deck. Stunning sunsets, social distance, and glorious live music combine for a series of unforgettable evenings. Face coverings are required for patrons who are not fully vaccinated.

All blocks are $50 for an 8’x8′ block which accommodates up to 2 patrons. Patrons are welcome to arrive as early as 6:30 PM to set up and enjoy the evening sun.

Buy a package of eight or more concerts and get early access all season. All processing fees are waived for package buyers.

Groups that are purchasing five or more blocks for one performance will also have advance access and the option of having a designated pre-performance area to host a reception.
