The Dog Days of Summer – an annual pet portrait event hosted by Portraits by Michael Stahl — celebrated 15 consecutive years with a completely booked weekend. Twenty-four families, with over 30 dogs, participated. Pups, young and old, were striking poses like pros (including my sweetie – find her at the bottom, being impish in a wooden crate).

This year, the event supported the work of the Montclair Township Animal Shelter.

“So far, we’ve raised about $800 and also collected lots of much need supplies for the shelter,” says Michael Stahl, photographer/owner of the studio.

“We saw so many incredible dogs and created some very compelling dog portraits,” Stahl says. “We love dogs and creating portraits. And it’s great the way the community steps up and supports the cause of animal rescue.”

Portraits by Michael Stahl will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this coming spring. The studio specializes in black and white portraits and has earned numerous awards and recognition for its work. More information can be found at www.portraitsbymichaelstahl.com.
