The Wellmont Theater opened its box office Monday for the first time since shutting down at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We’re open!!!” the theater’s Facebook page posted Monday afternoon. “It’s our first day back at the box office since March 2020. Hours are Monday through Friday from 12-5pm. Come grab your tickets with no fees.”
The theater has several shows scheduled through the rest of the year and into 2022, including two this month — Beatles tribute 1964 on Aug. 26 (rescheduled from several originally planned earlier dates; tickets from those dates will be honored), and the Roots on Aug. 28. Tickets had previously been available online only.
The theater says in a page on its site that it’s taking measures including “progressive cleaning and sanitizing using state of the art techniques and products of the highest quality and hospital grade.” The theater had also installed signage to encourage safe practices and adding hand sanitizer stations, it said.
