After more than four months of operating its current commuter schedules, DeCamp Bus Lines is adding additional commuter trips to and from New York City beginning Nov. 1
The expansion of service includes adding mid-day and weekend service on bus routes 33 and 66, both running through Montclair. Updated schedules with an effective date of Nov. 1 can be viewed on the DeCamp website.
The bus company halted service in March 2020 after stay-at-home orders were issued at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, then resumed it June 8, 2020. But service was suspended indefinitely in August of that year due to a 90% drop in ridership, DeCamp officials said.
Limited service began again in June 2021.
“I’m happy to be adding additional routes and expanding service levels,” vice president Jonathan DeCamp said in a DeCamp press release Wednesday. “We want to provide the residents and commuters with additional options for getting back and forth to the city.”
Bus tickets can be purchased at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, at local ticket agents or on NYC-bound buses using cash.
In addition to the New York City commuter services, DeCamp is booking charters for all group travel needs and operating weekly casino service to Wind Creek, Bethlehem.
