The Bravitas Group/The Silver Family Foundation is matching all financial donations to Toni’s Kitchen made until 5 p.m. on Nov. 23, to support those in the community with food insecurity.
This match is dollar-for-dollar with no cap amount set. Last year, the initiative raised more than $222,000.
Bob and Rhonda Silver are longtime supporters of Toni’s Kitchen, a food ministry of St. Luke’s Church in Montclair, according to an announcement from Toni’s Kitchen. The couple helped nurture the organization from a small three-day-a-week soup kitchen providing 7,000 meals 10 years ago, into a major food relief institution with a choice pantry, home deliveries, a Cafe food truck, to-go meals, and neighborhood pop-ups, the release said.
“Hunger negatively affects every facet of a person’s life,” the Silvers said in the press release. “We are honored to have the opportunity to help bring relief to those who are hungry in our local community.”
“We see families trying to get back on secure footing, recovering from the pandemic and navigating inflation,” executive director of Toni’s Kitchen Anne Mernin said in the release. “Funds raised through this generous matching opportunity will help keep food on their tables as they rebuild.”
