A pedestrian struck by a train near the Walnut Street Station last week remains in critical condition, according to a New Jersey Transit spokesperson.

There are no further updates to the New Jersey Transit Police investigation of the incident, the spokesperson said.

At approximately noon on Thursday, Jan. 27, the Montclair-Boonton Line train 6230 struck an adult male in the vicinity of North Fullerton Street, just west of the Walnut Street Station, according to the spokesperson. The train had departed Montclair State University at 11:47 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station New York at 12:44 p.m.

The male pedestrian was taken to a hospital, the NJ Transit spokesperson said. There were no injuries reported to the approximately 50 customers and crew on board.
